    Horrible experience from IHG Hotel in Starke Florida !!!! . Reservation Reference : 79518462 I booked my hotel on my business visit from IHG App. One night for Orlando and Three nights for Starke Florida. I came from Orlando to Starke Florida in the evening and was hungry so direct go to a restaurant for food. While checking my email I found my booking is cancelled. I was shocked and surprised. I called IHG customer care to find out what was going on. The feedback I got further surprised me. IHG customer care told me since you did not check in till 6 pm and Hotel does not have any person after 6 pm to take your payment so they assumed you are not coming and cancelled your room. They try to contact you but there is only email on file so contacted through email and has no response from you. I have a few questions about the Hotel reservation and IHG App. 1). Please provide the written policy which says that check is not allowed after 6 PM. 2). Hotel excuse, no one is available after 6 pm to accept the payment, if this is there on-going practice/Policy why it’s not highlighted on booking? Is IHG aware of this? 3). I talked with IHG customer relation officer and asked to provide me alternative they offer me other with High price hotel. I told it’s not my fault you should give me at same price. They replied we do not have control over price so can’t help you sorry for your situation. The way it’s going on I feel it’s something hotel that creates situation and selling reserved room at high price room. 4). I have doubt they sold my room at high price and Hotel does not have care of IHG member or booking. 5). Hotel said they try to contact me but only email on file… Big question I booked my hotel through IHG app and my all details on it how they are laying to contact. I was driving from Orlando to Starke. How can I check my email on the way??? 6). IHG customer care told me they escalated situation, and you will get the action email in 24-48 hours, but I did not have either email or hear back on this. 7). I want the written policy of IHG which mentioned that after Six pm if qualified hotel staff will not available, they cancel your reservation. 8). When I contacted customer care, she told me IHG will act and you will get E-mail in 24-48 hrs. I waited and unfortunately, I did not get any email, so I am writing up email. It looks like IHG as corporate has no control in brand and register hotel. I will wait to hear and then I will share the story on each platform to know the people when they book IHG Hotel, they need to check in before 6 pm otherwise it will cancel. I am surprised with IHG customer care response like they have no responsibilities what happened, and you cannot direct fight or contact to hotel as your reservation made through IHG app. I strongly advise if you travel with Family do not choose IHG I was single so somehow manage at 10pm. But if you are with family only you must pay a high price and go to another hotel and have all the hardships, especially if you are on vacation, you won’t give this experience to your family and spoil it. Furthermore when I tried to write a review this won’t allow me to write bad reviews on site, I called to customer care on reservation department and I asked for right email address to write review he did not aware and said customer service will provide !!! CAN YOU BELIEVE THE RESERVATION DEPARTMENT DOESTNOT KNOW FEEDBACK EMAIL/CONTACT DETIALS. THIS IS THIRD ATTEMPT AND NOT FIND IHG SO WRITING MY REVIEW HERE!! Please be conscious and take necessary precautions when you reserve and Travel with IHG. Hope my feedback will help people and they will act accordingly.     The hotel IHG Marlow RACIST disgusting treatment

    I would give no stars ! The hotel IHG Marlow disgusting horrible people and RACIST management shame on you. My sister and I went for lunch. The worst racist company I have ever experienced in my 54 years of life. We ordered lunch. We had not t received our meal and two members of staff approached us after we placed our order. Bear in mind we were the only black people in the restaurant. The lady said that we will need to pay before they served our lunch. We were quite taken a back and asked is that normal practice. The male waiter stood there like a manakin/security guard! Towering over us as we sat waiting for our lunch. To get straight to the point. They were very agitated walking back and forth talking to other members of staff. The manikin looking gentleman went and spoke to other colleague. The lady told us that it’s to stop people running out and not paying. I explained that we were not running out and what exactly gave here the impression. We refused to pay upfront. But it was an awful embarrassment to have experienced. I will never go to your hotels. I would never ever recommend it to anyone either. If your black I would definitely choose a different hotel where you are not looked down on as a thief😡

    Diamond Elite member - poor support

    May I'm a Diamond Elite member (for 2 years - for now) and I'm VERY disappointed with the "Diamond Elite" support number - I get a "call can not be completed as dialed" when trying it several times throughout the day on 9 May 24. As for the "Diamond Elite chat bot"... very aggravating, took several tries to get past this bot to finally have an agent respond. In the mean time, I found the number for the front desk of the hotel I needed help with concerning a reservation and got the issue resolved. Just for added grief, I tried the phone number a few more times - same recording.

    Crowne Plaza Cleveland Airport - An Extremely Horrible Experience, and Still Waiting for a Response From IHG Headquarters.

    I'm a retired engineer with disabilities and my wife is a retired M.D. who also has a disability. We stayed here with my wife's two cousins, one a retired M.D. and the other a retired attorney and we're all over 70 years old. My disabilities prevent me from standing, walking or laying down for an extended time without experiencing extreme pain. We came primarily to see the total solar eclipse and didn't know where to go to see it since downtown is full of tall buildings. We finally decided that the hotel's property was ideal so as soon as I checked in on Saturday the 6th I put in a request to borrow a few of the pool chairs. I was told the general manager wasn't in and that she would have to make the decision but the front desk staff didn't foresee any problems with what I asked for. I was told the general manager would be in the next morning, so I came to the front desk in the morning and was told she had already left without leaving an answer but that she would be in all the next day. The next day, the day of the eclipse, I again went to the front desk and was told "Didn't you get the message?" but there was never any message left for me. I asked to speak with her and she came out wearing a scowl on her face and told me I couldn't use them because she "didn't want to take the liability of me sitting in the parking lot" because "it was going to get dark during the eclipse" and she didn't want me to get hurt by "traffic speeding through the parking lot". I told her I would make sure we wouldn't be in the way of any traffic and that I had been through a total ecplise before and it doesn't get anywhere near as dark as night, but she refused to listen to me. She had stubbornly made up her mind. I then informed her about my disabilities and was reporting this to the ADA. She became agitated, aggressive, combative and raised her voice, scolding me very loudly within earshot of the front desk staff and everyone in the lobby that I "should have brought my own chairs" on my flight from South Carolina to Cleveland. I was totally shocked by her demeaning behavior towards me, feeling like she viewed me as a second class citizen due to my disabilities. Because I was reporting this, she immediately claimed I "threatened" her and that she was calling the corporate legal department on me. I asked for her supervisor's contact information but she refused, telling me that "their cell numbers and email addresses were personal". She then abruptly ended the conversation, turned her back on me and returned to her office. I again went outside to the parking lot to find a safe place to be and saw grassy islands on raised concrete curbs where vehicles couldn't travel and these met all her criteria for her so-called concern for my safety. I went back in and asked to speak with her again to promise that I would stay within these completely safe areas but she refused to come back out to reason with me. Instead, a sales manager came out who had a smile and was very pleasant to talk with, but she had no authority to change the strict orders of her general manager. She told me there was a park about a half mile away where people were gathering to watch the eclipse, but when I asked her if there would be chairs available there she couldn't confirm that. We ended up viewing the eclipse laying down on the grassy islands in the hotel's parking lot, but I observed other people in the traffic areas also. While she forbade me to be in the parking lot, she didn't care to enforce her policy on everyone else. After I returned home I searched the internet for a contact number to report this incident to IHG and immediately found it. Why didn't she give me that information when I asked for it? I told the Customer Care person about the awful way I was treated and was informed that I would be contacted on Monday, April 15, but as of May 9 I haven't heard back. A few follow-up calls to the same number resulted in being told that the general manager was informed about this incident and she brushed it off, saying that I "threatened" her. When I asked in what vein she meant that by I was told that she claimed I "threatened her with violence or physical harm", to which I replied, "Don't you think that if she meant it that way she would have called hotel security or the police?", and the Customer Care agent had to agree with me. I asked this to be escalated and was reassured that I would receive a reply. I called again and learned the manager claimed that I "wasn't mistreated". Really? This is totally unnacceptable.

    The worst company in the world. They’re scammer!!!! So they said one of the destination was close to my business destination area so we took the offer since we do business travel alot. Guess what?! When we want to use it they said that area is not on package. Since they said the offer was 100% refundable so we want to cancel it and ask our money back. They said NOPE we can’t take our money even we DON’T stay at their hotel!!!! Not refundable they said, not soon enough. What a scam!! Away from this hotel, people! They’re scammers! A thief!

    Buchung im Jänner, für Mitte Mai. Hotel eröffnet nun aber erst im Juni. Keinerlei Information durch das Hotel oder IHG. Nur durch Eigenrecherche wurde ich darauf aufmerksam. Von Hotel ist niemand zu erreichen (wird ja erst gebaut) und die einzige „Lösung“ die IHG anbietet ist eine Stornierung und Neubuchung eines anderen Hotels zum aktuellen (doppelten) Preis. Also nach mehreren Stunden, wo ich mehrmals hin und her verbunden wurde und mehrmals aus der Leitung fiel, bietet IHG etwas an, das ich selbst auch machen kann und draufzahle. Ich wollte nur ein Zimmer zum gleichen Preis zur gleichen Zeit. Keine Entschädigung oder sonstiges für den Aufwand. Aber nicht einmal das schafft IHG. So geht IHG mit loyalen Platinum Elite Membern um! Schlechtester Kundenservice den ich je erlebt habe. Danke IHG für vermieste Flitterwochen.

    Financial loss due to IHG

    Note, this is a genuine review. This is shared in a public forum, as it is in the public interest to be aware of what is going on at IHG. I am disappointed by my recent experience with IHG's website, which has resulted in significant financial loss for me on 12 April 2024. Despite escalating my complaint (Reference #10466339104) to the CEO, Mr. Elie Maalouf, IHG has failed to provide a satisfactory resolution. Instead, I have received only generic responses from what they term as their "Executive Liaison" which have been devoid of any real engagement with the issues at hand. It feels as though I'm communicating with an Executive "Placeholder" or "Echo," receiving copy-paste robotic replies that lack substance. IHG's actions have placed them in breach of multiple consumer rights statutes, including the Consumer Rights Act, the Equality Act, and Unfair Contract Terms Act. The problem arose when I booked a night at an IHG property and was charged in advance. Upon arrival, it became apparent that the website is flawed, with the days of the week displayed in a confusing order. Due to this oversight, the booking was made for a day earlier than intended. Despite attempting to rectify the issue over the phone (which, unfortunately, ended abruptly due to a dropped call), I was left with no choice at the hotel but to pay for an additional room to accommodate my family, including two toddlers. Upon entering the room, we discovered it did not have the promised sofa-bed. Despite requesting a room change to one that matched our original booking, IHG was unable to accommodate us, leaving us with no option but to pay for a third room to allow space for all four of us. IHG had us over a barrel what else could we do in the evening in a town a long way from home with two tired toddlers? This situation has caused me significant financial hardship and represents a serious failure in IHG's customer service. While I must commend the polite and courteous behavior of the hotel staff, their inability to resolve the issue indicates a larger management and executive-level failure, particularly concerning the defective website. Given the inability to find a resolution through normal channels, I have no choice but to pursue legal action. Despite numerous attempts, including approximately ten letters to Mr. Maalouf, we have been unable to reach a satisfactory outcome.

    I have used IHG for business and…

    I have used IHG for business and pleasure stays for over 15 years. The last few years this establishment has truly gone down hill. From a stay last summer in Orlando , where bed sheets were bloody, to allowing customers to smoke Marijuana freely at their kid friendly resort. I last week went to look for a hotel near us when traveling to use up points i had accumulated thinking maybe this would be a better experiance, however I booked in error thinking I could see the distance from where we were. I immediately called the 800 number and the agent noted he would take care of it and add my points back. 10 days went by, and no points added back . I called in 1 day ago , same run around that they would call me back to ensure my points were added back. Nothing..should have known better since my last experience, will use a different establishment for my future travel needs. This company does not stand by their word or best business practice. If you do decide to stay at an IHG hotel, pay attention to the front desk help and your rooms you will see for yourself. Go elsewhere , they are in the same category of the hotel chains with doors on the outside your momma warned you about.

    Horrible experience a year ago at the one in Savannah. To compensate for the bad experience they gave me some points. I had a total of 80000 points now that I want to use them they have taken them away. Stating I didn't use them before they expired. If that's the case I was never truly compensated for my Horrible stay. They weren't cleaning the room at all the 3 days I was there I had to speak to management everyday about housekeeping not cleaning the room

    The hotel was near to the town center and restaurants. What we didn't like when we arrived was to see dogs were allowed to stay,not one, not two,but many. The evening we arrived we dropped things off into room and went out for a meal. The next morning waking up in the hotel my husband was sneezing and had a blocked nose and this went on for the 3 days we were there. My husband said he didnt feel ill or have a cold. But we then realised it was the dogs that he had an allergy to as soon as we left the hotel he was fine. We did mention this to the reception upon leaving and we were told the dogs are allowed are floor 2 and 3 and guess what floor we were on 2. We came home to check where it says dogs are allowed on the booking. We found that you had to go on the web page and click facilities. Our argument is that most people unless staying in a spa hotel just what to choose their bedroom and don't both with the full list of facilities. It she be on the header for hotel saying that it is a pet friendly hotel and then we wouldn't of chosen it.

    It’s a racist group of hotel. If there is any issues, they are not doing anything except keeping you wait so that you give up and don’t call anymore. I had a racism issue and a couple other problems and they refused to solve. They shared my information with the racist hotel manager in Houston (Holiday Inn Express & Suites Houston Energy Corridor-W Oaks, an IHG Hotel) and putting my life in danger by sharing my information with racist and discriminator hotel management. It’s simply a scam company that charges for IHG membership and do nothing.

    The hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly and welcoming! The pool and pool room was very clean, the water was nice and warm but not too warm! We have stayed here quite often, its our go to when we are in Hartland!

    I was a member in excess of twenty years, but because I was working and unable to stay as often as they seemed to want, my points expired. Twice during this time I was Gold status, but was reduced to club status. I had amassed more than 86000 points, but they still removed these points, after they changed the rules, regarding expiration of points. I certainly would not recommend this company

    You can't change your delivery address so once you move house that's tough ****. I'm trying to redeem my points but your website does not allow editing of the delivery address, does no-one test these things? It's a moot point now anyway as it is so much more expensive to book through ihg that I rarely collect points these days.
